NERC Compliance Auditor
Position Summary
The NERC compliance auditor will assist in the development and implementation of the NERC Compliance Monitoring and Enforcement Program and ultimately be responsible for auditing and evaluating clients in their implementation of the program. This position reports to the Director of Compliance.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Audit our clients implementation of the NERC Compliance Monitoring and Enforcement Program by performing mock audits and spot checks.
• Audit records and recordkeeping practices of our clients compliance efforts.
• Recommend and develop measures and processes to ensure client implementation meets NERC requirements.
• Review the clients NERC Compliance Monitoring and Enforcement Program for consistency with NERC requirements.
• Prepare reports on the status of the clients implementation of the NERC Compliance Monitoring and Enforcement Program.
• Develop recommendations to enhance consistency in client processes.
• Provide guidance to improve the client NERC compliance program processes.
• Assist in the development of policy and procedure compliance elements where needed.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have:
• BS (preferred engineering) or equivalent experience - but not required.
• Two to five years electric utility experience in electric systems operation, planning, or performance auditing.
• Understanding of NERC reliability standards.
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
• Ability to analyze and solve complex problems.
• Strong conflict management skills.

Business Development Manager
Job Description
Abidance Consulting is growing, and we are seeking a Business Development Manager with broad experience in selling solutions into the Power, Utility, Chemical or Fortune 1000 companies. We are looking for someone with a successful track record of sales achievement, experience in an IT solutions and compliance services business, the ability to find new opportunities and grow existing accounts, and the willingness to get the job done.
As a member of the sales team you will leverage Abidance Consulting’s deep expertise in IT cyber security services, NERC/CFATS/RGGI compliance and training solutions to target, find, qualify and close new clients.
Responsibilities
This position reports to the Director of Compliance and includes the following responsibilities:
•Possess proven, strong, consultative strategic sales, negotiations and partner relationship abilities and interact with “C” level customer and partner executives.
•Identify and qualify new accounts, opportunities and leads.
•Balance the desire to identify long-term opportunities that are strategic to the overall development of the business with the tactical element of driving incremental revenue to the bottom line.
•Develop and execute a sound sales strategy while achieving quarterly and annual compliance and training sales quotas.
•Collaborate with inside sales, marketing, professional services and business unit managers to support quota achievement.
•Develop and manage the creation of client facing documents, including proposals and sales presentations.
•Conduct sales presentations in person and via web conference.
•Represent the company in business-level negotiations and work with the sales management, proposal development and corporate counsel to win favorable terms.
•Be committed to constant education and training (reading white papers, competitor and partner literature, web research, partner training, etc.) in order to keep pace with the changes in technologies and our industry.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
•Applicants must consent to and pass a company-required background investigation and pre-employment drug screen prior to employment.
•An extensive Rolodex of contacts within the Energy, Chemical, RGGI and Utility sector.
•A minimum of 2 years (5+ preferred) of direct sales experience, selling a combination of IT cyber security, compliance and professional services to C-Level, management, technical and business decision makers.
•Knowledge of business development process, reviews, forecasting and pipeline development – you must be able to identify and close transaction-based business and understand how to position and win strategic bids.
•Verifiable track record of sales accomplishments against quotas.
•Outstanding communication and presentation skills and an ability to effectively communicate ideas and create compelling value propositions.
•A self starter with an ability to work both independently and as a team player.
•An ability to work in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment.
